On October 4, Google recently launched its Pixel 8 series, packed with features. Personally, I appreciate the AI-generated images that assist users in creating outstanding photos using this feature.

After the successful marketing of the Pixel 7, Google introduced its successor, the Pixel 8 series. Typically, the Google Pixel flagship series offers great value, often priced hundreds of dollars less than competitors. The Google Pixel 7 series is now available at a significant discount during Flipkart’s Big Billion sales. The Pixel 7 is currently retailing for $599, while the Pixel 7 Pro is priced at $899. Largely, these price differences have contributed to the Pixel’s appeal, even with certain shortcomings in Tensor and signal performance.

With the launch of the Google Pixel 8 series, it’s been noted that Google will increase the prices of both devices in the US market.

According to a 9to5Google report, the Pixel 8 will be priced at $699, while the Pixel 8 Pro will come in at $999 – representing a $100 increase for each model.

It’s reported that both devices will be available in retail stores starting October 12, and Google has already initiated pre-bookings for these models.

As observed, the Pixel 7a also experienced a $50 price jump to $499. This price hike accompanied Google’s mid-range device improvements, such as a significant camera upgrade, a 90Hz display, wireless charging, and many other standout features. Additionally, it introduced an AI-generated wallpaper feature.

Google is also working on extending the lifespan of these devices by providing 7 years of both hardware and software support. What I appreciate most is that Google is considering long-term support for its users and customers. Regardless of the rationale, it will be intriguing to see if Google’s new devices can justify their elevated price points.
