The iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 have emerged as budget-friendly options within Apple’s iPhone lineup, boasting commendable processors and cameras. Even though they are both positioned as affordable choices, there remains a clear feature and price distinction between them that may leave consumers deliberating on which model to opt for. The iPhone 13 is priced starting at $599, while the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have price tags of $699 and $799, respectively. So, what really differentiates these two consecutive iPhone generations?

In 2021, Apple came out with the iPhone 13 after the popular iPhone 12. It had better cameras, a longer battery, and a new chip called A15 Bionic. Later, Apple introduced the iPhone 14 series, which included a bigger iPhone 14 Plus. Before, only the fancy iPhones had such a big screen. The prices for the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus are now $599, $699, and $799. Oh, and they stopped making the small iPhone 13 mini.

I was surprised that Apple used the same A15 bionic chip from the iPhone 13 in the iPhone 14. They even kept the screen size, 5G, and look the same. But, the iPhone 13 is cheaper and can do most of the things the iPhone 14 can. The iPhone 14 does have some extra cool stuff, like a better graphics thingy, a special emergency call feature, something called the Photonic Engine, and an Action Mode. iPhone 13 and iPhone 14

At first glance, the iPhone 14 doesn’t seem much different from the iPhone 13, so you might wonder if it’s worth the upgrade. But, before deciding, you should also check out the iPhone 15. Even though the iPhone 14 Plus starts at $799, which is the same as the iPhone 15, the latter offers newer features. The iPhone 15 has cool stuff like the Dynamic Island, a sharper 48-megapixel camera, and a USB-C port. These make it a better choice for the long run.
