Apple and Amazon collaborated in late 2019 so that they could bring Apple Podcasts to support Amazon Echo devices using the Alexa virtual assistant. This provides a better experience for users; if they are using any Apple device, they can ask the assistant to play a song or give commands to Apple’s platform.
Apple Podcasts on Amazon Echo and Amazon Fire TV devices will now be supported by Alexa. As of the Apple support document here is the list of the 40 countries that support this integration: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the U.K., and the U.S.
This Apple Podcast with Alexa integration will now allow users to play podcasts from the Apple Podcast app. You just have to link your Apple ID to Alexa if you want to sync across your Apple devices and want to be supported by Alexa. But if you want to use Alexa with Apple Podcasts, you have to download the Amazon Alexa app on your iPhone or any Apple device. There, you have to go to Settings > Music & Podcast menu > tap ‘Link New Service‘ > tap ‘Apple Podcasts‘. Once done, you might be asked for Face ID or Touch ID and passcode to continue.
If you want more details about this integration of Alexa and Apple Podcasts, you can read Apple’s support documents, or you can directly visit the store to get a full guide about this.
